Take a ride down Angels Flight, a historic funicular in Downtown Los Angeles that dates back to 1901. It was built to ferry elite passengers up and down the steep slope between Hill and Olive streets in the fashionable Bunker Hill neighborhood. In 1969 it was dismantled when the neighborhood was going through urban renewal and in the 90s it was refurbished and moved half of a block down, to where it sits today. but.The railway spans only 298 feet but it is an iconic Los Angeles landmark.
Angels Flight has been closed to the public for years due to regulatory issues. The Angels Flight Railway Foundation was established to get the little railway up and running once again, and to breathe life back into this California landmark.
